BC Future Stars: Meet Caleb Baker!
Ocean Athletics' Caleb Baker is already setting the tone for what could be a breakout season on the cross-country circuit.
At the Festival of XC, Baker was untouchable in the U16 division, covering the 4km course in 14:49.40. His winning margin of nearly a full minute not only secured the title but also highlighted the kind of dominance rarely seen this early in the season.
Baker on his First Win of the Season
He carried that momentum into the Big Valley Clash, one of the largest meets of the fall, where more than 130 athletes lined up in the Junior Boys 4k. Baker rose to the challenge, battling through a deep field to place second in 13:36.2. The performance confirmed what his Festival of XC win had already suggested: he is ready to compete with the best in British Columbia.
The season may only be in its early stages, but Baker has already established himself as one of the top young runners to watch.
