BC Future Stars: Delphine Gosselin
We're thrilled to shine the spotlight on another exceptional young talent in our BC Future Stars series at MileSplit BC! This week, we celebrate the incredible accomplishments of Delphine Gosselin. Representing Kitsilano during the high school season and competing with the Vancouver Thunderbirds Track and Field Club, Gosselin has proven herself as a dominant force in 2024.
Cross Country Success
This cross country season, Gosselin had multipleseveral standout performances:
- BCSS Vancouver Sea to Sky Zone XC Championships: Won the Senior 5km race with an impressive time of 19:25.
- VSSAA XC League Meets: Placed first at Quilchena Park, completing the 4.7km course in 17:43.3, and dominated the Langara meet, running 5.8km in 21:13.6-a remarkable win by over three minutes.
- Festival of XC: Claimed the U18 5km title, finishing in 18:55.1.
Adding to her achievements, Gosselin was recently named to Team BC and will represent the province at the upcoming Athletics XC Championships.
Track & Field Accomplishments
Gosselin's talents extend to the track, where she showcased her versatility during the 2024 season:
- 3000m: Secured 5th place at the BCSS Provincial Championships (10:59.79), while also placing first at the Vancouver Sea to Sky Zone Championships (10:47.33) and the VSSAA Preliminaries (10:31.82).
- 1500m: Placed second at the Vancouver Sea to Sky Zone Championships (5:06.71) and first at the VSSAA Preliminaries (4:58.38).
