BC Performer of the Week: Nov 4 - Nov 10

It's time to vote for the BC Performer of the Week for November 4th - November 10th!

With the BC School Sports Provincial Championships behind us, we're shifting our focus to the collegiate scene this week, as the U SPORTS National XC Championships took place on November 9th, hosted by UBCO at Mission Recreation Park. Let's celebrate these standout performances by BC athletes and those representing BC universities:

Yemane Mulugeta - A former high school star who just wrapped up his rookie season with the Trinity Western Spartans, Yemane placed 4th out of 152 athletes at the U SPORTS Championships, completing the 8km course in 23:34. He was also named U SPORTS Rookie of the Year for his outstanding debut season.

Jaiveer Tiwana - Leading the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds, Jaiveer finished 6th in a time of 23:46. Improving on his 10th-place finish from 2023, he was the first Thunderbird to cross the line, helping his team secure a 6th-place finish.

Lauren McNeil - Taking the women's 8km title, Lauren, who represented UBCO, won with a time of 26:31, finishing over 10 seconds ahead of the field and claiming the National Championship out of 126 athletes.

Constance Nankivell - Competing for the Trinity Western Spartans, Constance earned the silver medal in the women's race with a time of 26:42. She became the third spartan to win a U SPORTS XC medal.
 

Rachel Mortimer - Leading the UBC Thunderbirds, Rachel placed 6th in the women's race with a time of 27:29, contributing to her team's impressive 2nd-place finish overall.
