Recap: 2025 BC Athletics Indoor Track & Field Championships

Payton HeerThe 2025 BC Athletics Indoor Track and Field Championships, held in Kamloops from March 7-8, brought together over 180 athletes from 30 clubs across the province. Here's a breakdown of some of the key results from the weekend.

Impressive Track Results Across Age Groups

The 60m featured strong performances. Caitlin Peever of Okanagan Athletics Club posted a time of 7.95 seconds, breaking the 8-second barrier in the women's 18-19 year old race. Ryan Lofstrom delivered a solid performance in the men's division of the same age group, clocking in at 6.97 seconds. The 16-17 year old division saw Linda Zhou take the win for the women in 8.06 seconds, while Tason Tran led the men's race with a time of 7.17 seconds. In the 14-15 year old division, Kaylie Lofstrom claimed the women's victory in 8.02 seconds, while Nic Scarpino won the men's race in 7.87 seconds.

The 200m also produced competitive results. Tanaz Aulakh-Kahlon won the women's 16-17 year old division in 26.59 seconds, while Kaylie Lofstrom followed up her 60m performance with a victory in the 14-15 year old women's 200m in 26.85 seconds. In the 13-year-old girls' race, Chloe lp-Jansen took the win with a time of 28.18 seconds, and Alexandra Bernard won the 12-year-old division in 29.32 seconds.

In the distance races, Tristan Hill dominated in the 14-15 year old men's division, winning both the 800m (2:07.42) and 1200m (3:24.18). Mitchell Erickson led the men's 18-19 year old 1500m, taking the title in 4:15.79.
