It's time to vote for the BC Girls Performer of the Week!
This past weekend, athletes hit the trails at the 2024 Vancouver Spirit Run, hosted at the scenic Jericho Beach Park. This annual event brought together runners from various age groups and skill levels to compete in a mix of cross-country and trail races. Let's shine a spotlight on some standout female athletes who made waves in their respective races!
Chloe Ip-Jansen - Competing in the U14 mixed-gender race, U13 athlete Ip-Jansen from West Point Grey Academy was the first female athlete to cross the finish line. She placed 9th out of 61 competitors with a time of 11:45 over the 3km course, setting the pace for her age category.
Sasha Dehal - Dehal, representing Ocean Athletics, dominated the U16 race, finishing 1st out of all female entries, by a commanding 20-second lead. She completed the 3km course in 10:54, placing 6th overall in the mixed-gender field of 28 competitors.
Adrianna Buitelaar - In the U18 race, Buitelaar from the Valley Royals showed her strength as the top female finisher, winning by over a minute. She completed the 5km course in 17:32, securing 8th place out of 30 runners overall.
