Top Canadian Performances at the 2025 NCAA Indoors


Savannah Sutherland, from Borden, Saskatchewan, delivered a standout performance in the women's 400m, finishing fourth with a new Canadian indoor record of 51.29 seconds-shaving three-tenths off her previous national mark. Calgary's Ella Clayton also made an impact, helping the University of Oregon's Distance Medley Relay (DMR) team secure a second-place finish in 10:45.99, further showcasing the depth of Canadian talent. Meanwhile, Toronto's Izzy Goudros impressed in the Pentathlon, finishing sixth with a total of 4305 points. She put together a well-rounded series, including an 8.57 in the 60m hurdles, a 1.69m clearance in the high jump, and a strong 2:13.25 in the 800m.

Another exciting performance came from Praise Aniamaka, who placed 5th in the men's triple jump with a leap of 16.14m. While Nate Paris, competing in the men's Heptathlon, placed 13th with a total of 5617 points. Paris delivered impressive performances across all seven events, including a 6.99 in the 60m, a 7.32m jump in the long jump, and a 2:51.57 in the 1000m.

Overall, the 2025 NCAA Indoor Championships were filled with outstanding performances from Canadian athletes, both from B.C. and across the country. The future of Canadian track and field is bright, and these athletes are making their mark.
