2025 BC Athletics Cross Country Championships Preview

The 2025 BC Athletics Cross Country Championships return to Vernon on October 18 with over 320 registered athletes representing more than 30 clubs across the province. Competitors from U10 through Masters 70+ will take on rolling grass and gravel terrain at the Department of National Defense Grounds in a full day of competitive racing.
This championship also serves as the official selection meet for BC's U16, U18, U20, and Senior teams, who will advance to the Canadian Cross Country Championships in London, Ontario, on November 29-30.
With a deep field of talent, here are just some of the high school athletes to keep an eye on:
Boys U16: Caleb Baker, Laken Olson, Tristan Hill
Boys U18: Rhys Beaudoin, Isaiah Johnston, Coen Kissman, Riley Simmonds
Girls U16: Lyla Teer, Claire Babiuk, Clara Simpson, Mei-Viz Lou
Girls U18: Sasha Dehal, Amelia-Ahn Lou
Racing begins at 9:00 a.m. with the 5 km Community Race. Championship events continue through the afternoon, including Senior and Masters women at 11:55 a.m. and Senior and Masters men at 1:00 p.m. Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each division, and team titles will be contested in Junior Development, U16, U18, Senior, and Masters categories.
With strong fields from clubs across the province, the 2025 BC Cross Country Championships promise an exciting day of racing.
