Senior Girls & Junior Boys Hammer and Shot Put
In the throws events, Talia Phangura and Gursher Gabri continue to dominate their respective divisions. Phangura, a Grade 11 from North Surrey, holds the top seed in the Junior Girls shot put with a mark of 12.37m-over a meter beyond the next competitor. She also leads the hammer throw with a seed mark of 49.72m, more than 4 meters ahead of the second seed.
Gabri, a Grade 10 from Enver Creek, holds top seed in the Junior Boys shot put and hammer throw, with marks of 16m and 59.29m respectively. Gabri's hammer throw mark surpasses the second seed by an astonishing 18 meters. Nationally, Gabri ranks 3rd in the U20 hammer and shot put, while Phangura holds the top spot in shot put and ranks 6th in hammer.
Junior Girls High Jump & Senior Boys High Jump
The Junior Girls high jump is wide open with five athletes tied as top seeds at 1.60m: Amy Woods, Vienne Bredick, Jaylah Dennis, Saachi Brar, and Jordyn Pershick. Notably, 14-year-old Jaylah Dennis has already cleared 1.85m this season.
In the Senior Boys high jump, Fraser Lake's Keegan Farrell leads the field with a top seed mark of 1.98m. Walker Brown, the second seed at 1.97m, has cleared 2.05m this season, making for an intriguing battle for the provincial title.
