Senior Spotlight: Iyimi Fagbamiye is headed to UWM!

As he looks forward to his collegiate career, Fagbamiye is eager to face a higher level of competition and travel across the U.S. with his team, while his long-term aspirations involve winning conference titles with UWM and potentially qualifying for the Olympic team in 2028.

Reflecting on his last high school championships, Fagbamiye faced challenges with injury management, tweaking his hamstring during the 200m heat. Despite these difficulties, he enjoyed the experience, competing alongside friends for perhaps the last time, and was thrilled to finally secure the elusive 110m hurdle gold medal.

As he transitions to collegiate athletics, Fagbamiye offers some advice to younger athletes: "Don't focus on what others are doing around you. Walk your path." He emphasizes the importance of perseverance and dedication, noting, "It doesn't matter how talented you are; if you don't keep working and training, you won't stay on top forever."

With a bright future ahead, Iyimi Fagbamiye continues to inspire and set an example for aspiring athletes, both on and off the track.
