Throws Take Center Stage

In the Girls U16 category, Talia Phangura dominated all three of her events. She won the shot put with a mark of 13.73m, surpassing her next closest competitor by over 3 meters. Phangura continued her exceptional form by winning the discus with a throw of 32.87m and the hammer throw with a distance of 44.15m. Her outstanding marks firmly established her as a force to be reckoned with in multiple throwing disciplines.

The Boys U16 Shot Put witnessed a similar show of dominance, as Gursher Gabri unleashed a throw of 14.43m, securing victory with a comfortable margin of over 2 and a half meters. Gursher continued to impress in other events, clinching the hammer throw title with a distance of 51.35m and winning the discus with a mark of 47.01m. 

Gurleen Mander too showcased her throwing prowess in the Girls U18 Shot Put, winning the event with a distance of 13.34m. She also claimed victory in the discus throw, launching an impressive mark of 35.48m and placed third in the hammer throw, with a throw of 51.33m.

In the seated events, Tiana Hesmert secured her victory in the women's seated shot put with a mark of 3.46m and claimed the discus throw title with a distance of 6.61m. Meanwhile, Daryl emerged as the champion in the men's seated shot put with a mark of 4.90m and won the discus throw with a distance of 17.47m. 

Additional standout marks were achieved by Roman Yeterian, who threw an impressive 39.80m in the Boys U18 Discus. Gillian Galik won the Girls U16 Discus, recording a throw of 38.13m. Tyson Servos displayed his skill in the Boys U16 Discus with a throw of 52.42m. Erika Burry won the Girls U18 Javelin with a distance of 38.57m. Martynas Bajarunas set a new meet record in the Boys U18 Javelin, delivering a throw of 61.45m, while Lauren Curtis won the Girls U18 Hammer with a mark of 53.53m.

Jumpers Take Flight

In the Girls U16 Long Jump, Vanessa Pang came close to breaking the 5-meter barrier with a winning jump of 4.98m. Meanwhile, Jasleen Nagra emerged as the Girls U18 Long Jump champion, securing victory by a margin of over 30 cm with a mark of 5.62m. The U18 Boys Long Jump featured a battle. Colin Zhou edged out his biggest competitor by a mere 3cm. Zhou's winning jump of 6.36m bettered Justin Servos' mark of 6.33m

Divine Aniamaka, the BC High School Championship record holder, continued to make his mark in the triple jump. Aniamaka won by over one meter with a jump of 14.66m. 

In the high jump events, Payton Heer soared to victory in the Girls U16 division, clearing a height of 1.65m and securing a comfortable 10cm lead over her competitors. Walker Brown claimed the Boys U16 High Jump title with a jump of 1.80m.

The U20 Boys High Jump witnessed a thrilling competition. Cesare Rednour-Bruckman emerged as the champion, clearing a height of 1.95m, while Caleb Emon secured second place with a jump of 1.90m on his last attempt. 

The pole vault events showcased exceptional talent and record-breaking performances. Gabrielle Armstrong set a new meet record in the Girls U16 Pole Vault, soaring over a height of 3.41m and surpassing the previous record of 3.30m held by Sonya Urbanowicz. Mackenzie Hurtubise displayed her prowess in the U18 Pole Vault, claiming victory with a jump of 3.87m, outperforming her competitors by a remarkable 70cm.
