British Columbia's high school track and field season is well underway and MileSplit BC is looking for passionate individuals to join our team of contributors! This includes videographers, interviewers, photographers and writers to cover and promote BC high school track and field across the province. Whether you are in the Okanagan, Vancouver Island, Metro Vancouver and anywhere and everywhere in between this could be for you; we want to cover as many meets and athletes as possible and this is your chance to be a part of it!
Our positions are paid on an event-by-event basis and responsibilities could include:
Written features such as athlete highlights, feature articles, recaps, Q&As and more
Gathering race footage
Producing photo galleries
Post-event interviews
More about being a videographer or photographer?
Our hired videographers/photographers are freelancers that are onsite at meets, taking action shots, gathering meet footage and even athlete/coach interviews! MileSplit even has contributors that are parents, coaches and students - you don't necessarily need to be a professional!
You must however have your own equipment as we do not provide devices, have the ability to quickly apply the material you acquire at meets to our site and be able attend meets (days of the week vary).
What next?
If you are interested in becoming a contributor for MileSplit British Columbia, please contact Katherine Lucas at milesplitbc@gmail.com and include what role you would be interested in and include any information relevant to your experiences with videography, photography, writing/reporting, interviewing, even your knowledge of track and field. Please also include your availability for meet coverage.
